The past 25 years have been marked by the globalization of economic, financial, commercial, and investment activity. This course acquaints the student with the modern day economic and financial environment and equips him with the tools and techniques necessary to manage it. The course deals with such issues as balance of payments adjustment, risk-hedging instruments, the international financial architecture, the institutional organisation of the capital markets as well as the supervisory role of the Bretton Woods organisations.
